Brehm & OPTIONS Prepare for the Annual Strategic Planning Weekend

The time of year has come again for Brehm's Strategic Planning Weekend.

Each year, Brehm & OPTIONS faculty, staff, Board of Trustees and parents come together for a weekend of planning for the next three years. Strategic Planning is a process where Brehm stakeholders can envision the future and develop the necessary procedures and operation to influence and achieve that future. It is a unique opportunity for parents to join with faculty, staff and the Board to add input to Brehm's facilities planning. It is also a great chance for parents to meet with other parents and staff to share ideas on an informal basis.

We achieve our path of success through thorough visionary & operations audits, SWOT (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats) analyses and evolutionary goals, set on a three year path.

What is Brehm?

Brehm is an accredited junior-senior high school. A family style boarding school for students, grades 6 through 12, with complex learning disabilities.

OPTIONS Program at Brehm serves post high school students with learning disabilities who need to further develop academic and social skills required for success in college, vocational/technical school, and the workplace.

Brehm Preparatory School Inc., a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit, offers a unique holistic program that individually addresses each student’s academic, emotional, and social needs.

Brehm uses the term “complex” learning disabilities in recognition that students experience difficulties in multiple areas of functioning. Brehm’s holistic program focuses on the combined academic, social and emotional effects of having a learning disability.

Our students often have multiple diagnoses affecting their performance with the core issue of having a language-based etiology. We recognize the combined effects of LD/ADD, language based processing issues, executive function issues and the social and psychological implications of not being successful in an academic environment. Brehm offers direct interventions for students with dyslexia, dyscalculia, dysgraphia, NLD, aspergers, anxiety disorder, tourettes, auditory processing disorder, speed of processing disorders and interventions requiring behavioral and emotional support as it relates to academic issues.
