Brehm-Family Silent Art Auction to Take Place Over Parent's Weekend

New to this year's Parent's Weekend program is a Brehm-Family silent art auction. For the first time, Brehm students, faculty and staff have donated a wide variety of art to be auctioned off.

In the name of giving, art submissions range from photography and paintings to quilts and CDs. Proceeds of this event will go towards the 2008-2009 Annual Giving campaign.

Come prepared to buy and look for the work of your student this Saturday, beginning at 5 p.m. Bidding for this event will end promptly at 6:30 and pieces will be available for pick-up at the close of the evening.

What is Brehm?

Brehm is an accredited junior-senior high school. A family style boarding school for students, grades 6 through 12, with complex learning disabilities.

OPTIONS Program at Brehm serves post high school students with learning disabilities who need to further develop academic and social skills required for success in college, vocational/technical school, and the workplace.

Brehm Preparatory School Inc., a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit, offers a unique holistic program that individually addresses each student’s academic, emotional, and social needs.

Brehm uses the term “complex” learning disabilities in recognition that students experience difficulties in multiple areas of functioning. Brehm’s holistic program focuses on the combined academic, social and emotional effects of having a learning disability.

Our students often have multiple diagnoses affecting their performance with the core issue of having a language-based etiology. We recognize the combined effects of LD/ADD, language based processing issues, executive function issues and the social and psychological implications of not being successful in an academic environment. Brehm offers direct interventions for students with dyslexia, dyscalculia, dysgraphia, NLD, aspergers, anxiety disorder, tourettes, auditory processing disorder, speed of processing disorders and interventions requiring behavioral and emotional support as it relates to academic issues.
