Brehm Robotics Team Meagahurts is Off for the Competition!

Yesterday, the Brehm family came together to send off the Brehm Robotics Team Megahurts with well wishes! Students, faculty & staff gathered to wish Team Megahurts a Bon Voyage.

Students, faculty & staff congregated, complete with

songs and pep chants for Team Megahurts.

These latest photos were taken on-site at the Chaifetz Arena at St. Louis University during the qualifying round of the 2010 FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Robotics Competition.

Team Megahurts makes some final adjustments to the robot they have been

planning, designing, building and programming for the last six weeks.

The Robotics Competition will take place this Friday and Saturday, March 19th and 20th in St. Louis at the Chaifetz Arena on St. Louis University campus from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m.

Be sure to come out and support Brehm Robotics.

What is Brehm?

Brehm is an accredited junior-senior high school. A family style boarding school for students, grades 6 through 12, with complex learning disabilities.

OPTIONS Program at Brehm serves post high school students with learning disabilities who need to further develop academic and social skills required for success in college, vocational/technical school, and the workplace.

Brehm Preparatory School Inc., a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit, offers a unique holistic program that individually addresses each student’s academic, emotional, and social needs.

Brehm uses the term “complex” learning disabilities in recognition that students experience difficulties in multiple areas of functioning. Brehm’s holistic program focuses on the combined academic, social and emotional effects of having a learning disability.

Our students often have multiple diagnoses affecting their performance with the core issue of having a language-based etiology. We recognize the combined effects of LD/ADD, language based processing issues, executive function issues and the social and psychological implications of not being successful in an academic environment. Brehm offers direct interventions for students with dyslexia, dyscalculia, dysgraphia, NLD, aspergers, anxiety disorder, tourettes, auditory processing disorder, speed of processing disorders and interventions requiring behavioral and emotional support as it relates to academic issues.
